The Plan of Salvation

Are You Sure You Are Going to Heaven?

The Bible States That You Can Know for Sure Whether or Not You Are Going to Heaven When You Die…

The biggest decision that you will make in life is where you will spend eternity. Living a good life, being a member of a church, or being “religious” cannot get you to heaven. Please take a few moments and read what the Bible tells us we must do in order to accept God’s gift of eternal life offered to all…

1. Acknowledge your sin.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

No matter how good you have tried to be, you still have come short of God’s glory by sinning. All of mankind are sinners.

2. Realize there is a penalty for sin.

“For the wages of sin is death.” – Romans 6:23a

Just as you work and receive a wage for your work, the same is true with sin. The price for your unforgiven sin will be hell for all eternity.

3. Acknowledge that Jesus Christ paid the penalty of sin for you.

“But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

God loves all of us, even those with unforgiven sin. God sent a part of Himself, His Son Jesus, to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus lived here on earth, died on the cross, was buried and resurrected three days later. If we could work our way to heaven by doing good things, there would be no reason for Jesus to have died on the cross. Faith in Jesus is the only way our sins can be forgiven that we may go to heaven.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

4. Realize that eternal life is a gift that God wants to give you.

“The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23b

God wants us all to accept His gift of eternal life, no matter the bad things we may have done.“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – II Peter 3:9

5. Believe that Jesus is Lord, confess your sin and ask Him to save you.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” – Romans 10:9-13

Here is how you can secure a home in heaven:

Believe in your heart that Jesus has already shed His blood on the cross as payment for your sins and simply call upon Him and ask Him to forgive and save you.You may choose to pray a simple prayer like this…

“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me. I am trusting you to be my Savior and to get ready for me my home in heaven.” Amen.
